Senator Blunt Highlights Johnson County Visit, Completes Second Tour Of All Missouri Counties

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) recently announced he has successfully completed his second tour of the state since being sworn into the U.S. Senate, visiting each of Missouri’s 114 counties and the City of St. Louis. Along his tour, Blunt visited Johnson County, where he toured Whiteman Air Force Base and met with community leaders in Warrensburg, Mo. on February 20, 2013. Blunt serves as a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense.

Blunt has made more than 1,000 stops meeting with Missourians in communities all over the state since joining the Senate. In April 2012, Blunt completed his first tour of every Missouri county.

“Missouri serves a vital role in our national defense. Our state is home to hundreds of thousands of active duty servicemen and women, civilian defense employees, and private sector contractors, as well as several important military installations,” Blunt said. “I’m always pleased to visit Whiteman Air Force Base in Warrensburg, and I’ll continue working to support Whiteman’s role as a national asset in the defense of our country.”
