WASHINGTON â€“ Yesterday, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) met with Ryan and Tarah Craft, who are the proud parents of an adopted daughter and dedicated advocates for adoption. Blunt released the following statement after the visit:

“As co-chair of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption, and an adoptive dad myself, I know how much joy and happiness welcoming a child into your home can bring – and the obstacles many families face when they pursue adoption. With so many children looking for a place to call home, we should be making it easier, not harder, to adopt. Ryan and Tarah Craft are exemplary parents and were eager to bring their daughter, Jessica, from the Democratic Republic of Congo home to Missouri but faced an uphill battle. It was an honor to work with them on that process and to visit with them in Washington. I was especially glad to hear how Jessica is happy and thriving in her forever home.”
