WASHINGTON – Last week, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) welcomed students from Belle High School to his office in Washington. Blunt discussed the history of the Capitol, including the Truman Room, where Harry S. Truman was working the day he became president:
“As a former history teacher, I always enjoy sharing the history of the Capitol with young Missourians when they visit Washington. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm these students had for learning more about government and advocacy up close. I’m confident their experiences here in the nation’s capital will be incredibly valuable as their future education and career plans take shape. Getting to meet and talk with these students from Belle was a highlight of my day.”
The students were visiting Washington, D.C. with their teacher, Rebecca Rose.
