Blunt Applauds Navy Decision to Name Future Ship After Sen. Thad Cochran

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement on Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer’s announcement that the Navy will name a future guided-missile destroyer after the late U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (Miss.):

“As Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Thad Cochran led efforts to ensure our military remained the strongest in the world. He was a proud Navy veteran, accomplished legislator, and consummate gentleman. I’m very happy to see the Navy honor his legacy in this way.”
