WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement regarding the NGA West land transfer ceremony in St. Louis, Mo. earlier today:
“Today is an important milestone in the years-long effort to ensure the NGA West facility and the thousands of jobs it supports remain in St. Louis,” said Blunt. “I’m grateful for the hard work of city and state officials, as well as the commitment by the federal government, to complete this land transfer. I will continue working in the Senate to move this critical project forward.”
The FY19 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs appropriations bill, which was signed into law in September, included $291 million in further funding for the construction of the new NGA West facility. The omnibus funding bill that was signed into law in March 2018 provided $200 million for the facility. In June 2016, the NGA finalized its selection of North St. Louis as the site for the new NGA West headquarters.
