WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) announced today that he was named to the Airland; Personnel; and Readiness and Management Support Subcommittees for the Senate Committee on Armed Services. Blunt is one of two Republican Senators to serve on both the defense authorizing and appropriations full committees in the Senate.
Blunt also announced the hiring of Bo Prosch as his new Military Legislative Assistant (MLA) to help with his work on both the Senate Armed Services Committee and Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Prosch is a combat veteran and former 82nd Airborne Infantryman who served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also previously served as the MLA to former U.S. Senators Kit Bond (Mo.) and Scott Brown (Mass.).
“I’m very pleased to serve on these subcommittees, and I’m proud to have Bo join our team,” said Blunt. “Bo has bravely served our country as a combat veteran, and he has a great deal of knowledge and experience on issues related to national defense. I know he will be a strong asset to our legislative team.”
Missouri is home to almost 18,000 active duty servicemen and women, nearly 10,000 civilian employees, 25,000 reservists and members of the National Guard, and almost 29,000 additional military-related personnel. The state also has more than 125,000 civilian contract employees.
