WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today announcing that he will vote against the budget and debt limit agreement when it comes to a vote in the Senate.
“I didn’t like how this deal was done or the final product,” said Blunt. “More importantly, when you increase the debt limit, you should fundamentally change fiscal behavior.”
In earlier remarks, Blunt also cited a provision in the budget agreement that would undermine bipartisan reforms to the crop insurance program - the main risk management tool for farmers – as a reason for opposing the bill.
