Senator Blunt’s Statement On New EPA Utility MACT Rules

January 05, 2012

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new Utility MACT Rules:

“I’m very disappointed in the EPA’s new Utility MACT rules, which, when combined with the cross-state air rule, would cost Americans nearly 1.4 million jobs. This rule would increase electricity prices by nearly 20 percent in areas like Missouri, which is very reliant on coal. I’m going to continue working to stop rules like this and other job-destroying regulations that will fall squarely on Missouri families and job creators who are still struggling to get back on their feet.” – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.)
