WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), Chairman of the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, spoke on the Senate floor to highlight his efforts to reinstate year-round Pell Grants, and urge support for legislation, which the Senate passed this week, to combat the opioid epidemic. Blunt also underscored the need for a robust debate in the annual appropriations process to ensure Americans’ top priorities are reflected, and every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely or not at all.
