WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, questioned Dr. Joseph Parks, a Professor at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health and Medical Director for the National Council for Behavioral Health, and Dr. David Johnson of Navos Mental Health Solutions regarding effective mental health treatment and implementation of the Excellence in Mental Health program. In December, Blunt announced that Missouri is one of eight states selected to participate in the demonstration program created under the Excellence in Mental Health Act, which was signed into law in 2014.
