Senator Blunt’s Statement On Relocation Of National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Complex

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today after the U.S. Department of Defense announced six possible sites for the relocation of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency complex in the St. Louis area, including five in the state of Missouri:

“I've visited the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency facilities in St. Louis and Arnold, Missouri a number of times. The agency’s extremely valuable, well-trained workforce is critical to Missouri and our nation’s warfighters, intelligence experts and first responders. We need to move the facility, but in a way that doesn't have a negative impact on the area where it has long been based.

“There's a reason why five of the six new locations being considered by NGA are in our state. Keeping the new facility in Missouri would help with the transition of the agency’s critically important operations, while providing opportunities for the government to create a positive economic impact.”
