WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that St. Louis has been selected to receive a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant to spur revitalization in the Near North Side community. Blunt played a key role in advocating for the grant, which will be used to expand housing and commercial development, increase access to loans for small businesses and homeowners, and improve education and employment opportunities.
“This grant will go a long way toward driving economic growth and development in a region vital to the future of St. Louis and the state,” Blunt said. “This critical investment, coupled with the construction of the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency West headquarters, will transform the North St. Louis area, improving the quality of life and expanding opportunities for thousands of families. I look forward to working with Mayor Slay, elected officials, and community partners to move forward on the projects backed by this grant.”
