WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, questioned executives from Twitter and Facebook regarding their efforts to combat foreign influence operations on their platforms.
During his remarks, Blunt questioned Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on whether the company is willing to consider archiving suspended accounts in order to increase transparency. In addition, Blunt asked Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg if the company differentiates between foreign and domestic influence operations when deciding to remove a page or account from the platform.
